ABOUT US

House of Chimwe has its roots in the verdant highlands of Malawi and the sun-kissed shores of Cape Town. We're a woman-led, independent business with two primary objectives:

1. Make the world more beautiful.

2. Make the world better.

 

We do this by working in a transparent, ethical way to source high-quality, handmade cane furniture. Each item we sell is handwoven in Malawi and we source directly from artisans. This means local communities and villagers benefit directly from each sale.

 

We also make the world more beautiful by bringing the ancient art of cane weaving into your home - the timeless elegance of our pieces speak of African luxury and excellence.

 

Our name, House of Chimwe, takes inspiration from the Chichewa word for happiness. We hope you find the happiness, the chimwemwe, in each of our pieces. Check out our full offering here.
